Volunteer Opportunities within our Bennington GMC
Trail/Shelter Maintenance - help with trail and shelter maintenance, adopt a trail, prepare refreshments for trail/shelter crews. Maintenance can include clearing brush and trees from trails, creating waterbars, repainting blazes, repairing or replacing directional signs, clearing blowdowns (trees or branches that have fallen over the trail), bringing supplies up to and repairing shelters. Sometimes The GMC will provide all tools that you would use, just bring some work clothes, work gloves, weatherproof gear, and your lunch. Dates are in our Events Schedule section. Individuals can adopt a section of the Long Trail or a feeder trail. Check the GMC website for volunteer opportunities. |
