TRAIL and SHELTER MAINTENANCE
Maintenance can include clearing brush and trees from trails, creating water bars, repainting blazes, repairing or replacing directional signs, clearing blowdowns (trees or branches that have fallen over the trail), bringing supplies up to and repairing shelters. Most times, the GMC will provide all tools that you would use, just wear work clothes, bring work gloves, weatherproof gear, food and water. Dates are in our Events Section.
Individuals can adopt a section of the Long Trail or a feeder trail. Check the GMC website for volunteer opportunities.

WE EXIST BECAUSE OF VOLUNTEERS
Volunteers are the life blood of our organization, however the organization requires financial support to accomplish its goals. You may become an official member of the Green Mountain Club and help protect one of Vermont's prime assets for the present and future generations. A portion of your donation goes to support the outreach of the Bennington Section.

A membership is a monthly or yearly, tax-deductible donation that supports the protection and maintenance of 500+ miles of Vermont trails along with helping to forster a community of lifelong hikers and adventurers.

Take the next step to becoming a member.
