- Once you have joined the Bennington GMC Meetup group, you can click the ATTEND button to show your intention to attend the event. If you change your mind, or are not able to attend, you must go back to the Meetup group and change your status to NOT GOING - many events have a participant limit and if you do not change your status you may be preventing someone else from attending. If you are not familiar with GMC events please see more details below the list.
- If the event changes, all participants will receive an email through Meetup. However, it is good practice to check the Meetup site the day before the event.
- All events have a description that informs you of the expectations. For example, in hiking events we always include the pace, distance, elevation gain and expected duration.

Please remember meetups are social events and not professionally guided trips. By participating in a trip, you are agreeing not to hold anybody responsible for injuries or accidents. Always come prepared and properly equipped. In the event of an emergency, your fellow members will do their best for you, but there is no guarantee any of the participants will have medical or rescue training.
By participating in this event you also acknowledge that you understand the level of difficulty and are physically capable, properly attired and have the necessary gear and supplies required for participation in this activity. If, for any reason, the trip leader concludes that an individual(s) is not adequately prepared, said trip leader has the discretion to exclude the individual(s) from the Bennington GMC event.

Wear sturdy footwear and weather appropriate clothing with layers as conditions can change quickly. In warm weather pack a rain poncho, wear a hat, put on sunscreen and insect repellent. You may want to include a head net in buggy season. In colder weather pack extra layer(s) and a spare pair of socks. Always pack a flashlight or headlamp. It's good practice to assume that every season is tick season. In all seasons, wearing blaze orange helps you to be seen more easily.
